As winter loosens its grip, the first signs of spring appear—snowdrops, aconites and early bulbs lighting up hedgerows, churchyards and woodland edges across the North York Moors National Park. It’s the perfect month for slow walks, crisp air, and that wonderful feeling of the year beginning again.
The heritage trains are running, threading through the moors and valleys, adding a little romance and nostalgia to your days out. Come back to the warmth of your cottage, light the fire, and enjoy the peace that February does so well.
And when darkness falls? Step outside into one of England’s best dark-sky areas. As part of the North York Moors Dark Skies Festival (13 Feb – 1 Dec), guests are welcome to use our telescope, or enjoy stargazing from the sheltered conservatory with hot drinks in hand.
February isn’t empty here. It’s quietly, beautifully full.
