We strode out for a bracing walk to enjoy the magnificence of the scenery on a snowy Saturday in January. Late afternoon, & with the skies clearing, we knew the warm evening light would add a rich pallette to the raw coldness of the landscape.
At the tower we chatted a short while with Craig of 'Wildcamping101'. He had set up camp for the night, filming with a combination of Go Pro, Stills Camera & a Drone... Ready to capture the scene in all its magnificence. Do take a look at the stunning footage & the neatly crafted video short he put together....

Skelton Tower is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the door here. If camping at minus 6 is not your thing (& it's definitely no longer ours!) book a stay at one of our cottages for the Dark Skies Festival 9th-25th February 2018. Many events on the North York Moors throughout... or join us for a night stroll to Skelton Tower with binoculars & some hot soup. Speak to us at the time of booking & we'll gear up an evening under the stars.
