Forget crowded restaurants and noisy pubs or studio hotel rooms This Valentine’s, choose space, silence, and time together. Stay four nights in February at Grove House Levisham and enjoy Prosecco and chocolates on us. Wander hand-in-hand in the valley past early spring flowers to Lockton Tea Rooms—perfect for cosy lunches, cakes, and unhurried conversations after return across the open moorland or take the NYMR steam train through the winter landscape. Return to the cottage privacy, warmth of wood burner and the kind of calm that lets romance breathe again. Later watch the stars together under impressive dark skies. February's love doesn’t shout. It glows!
Early February has always been sacred at Grove House Levisham Station. The 1st St Brigid’s Day (Imbolc) is a time to honour renewal, light, and the turning of the year—where Celtic traditions of rebirth meet Christian devotion (Candlemas) in this ancient landscape. The North York Moors are rich with history.

Hygge ("hooga") Is all about taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about - or even by yourself. Taking time to relax and enjoy life's quieter pleasures in a tranquil location, where there's never an agenda, it is an opportunity to unwind, take things slow and to celebrate the small joys of life.
GHL is the perfect location to Hygge down this Valentines Day. Sleep in, roam the moors, watch the birds, sit and read, bring your: knitting, modelling, drawing or craft, bake a cake or go: sit in a cold water stream or lose your thoughts in the quiet of the forest.
So reward yourself with a break, treat your loved one and find your Hygge at Grove House Levisham.
4 February - 2 March 2025 North York Moors National Park
The festival will be full of activities and opportunities for you to appreciate and learn the wonders of the night sky. There are events in Dalby Forest & photography evenings at Whitby
There's a special evening featuring space scientist and broadcaster Dame Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE. “Reaching for the Stars – an exploration of the night sky”.
If like me you've been marvelling at the planetary alignment then this festival is for you.
I've discovered that here at GHL just up from the cottages there's a natural open planetarium for viewing the nights sky.
So if you are a beginner, enthusiast or expert astronomer GHL accommodation is centrally located to enjoy the festival and ideal for your own celestial viewing. Why not bring your telescope and view through the conservatory roof.

In August it is spectacular and from Grove House Levisham Holiday Cottages at Levisham Station it is on your doorstep.
The "June Gap" is used by Beekeepers and Gardeners to describe the period at the end of the Spring Blossom and the start of the summer blooms.
